Planned Safeassign Service Maintenance
The SafeAssign central services will undergo maintenance that requires a service outage on Thursday, March 19, 2015 2am – 6am US Eastern Time (GMT -5). During this time, SafeAssign functionality will not be available and an error will be displayed to the user.

The SafeAssign servers will be patched to protect the system against the GHOST vulnerability, which requires a service restart.

- Blackboard will formally cease offering and supporting the Blackboard Learn™ Toolbar with Bing™ application (http://www.blackboard.com/Partnerships/Extensions.aspx?ext=32044) at the end of this month on June 30, 2013.
The Blackboard Learn Toolbar for IE and Firefox displayed updates from Blackboard Learn courses as well as integrating the Microsoft Bing™ search engine. Postponed Scheduled Maintenance for SafeAssign
The SafeAssign service maintenance originally scheduled for Saturday, August 4th, 2012 (from 12:01 AM US Eastern (GMT-4) to 9:00 AM US Eastern), and announced in a previous Support Bulletin, is postponed. SafeAssign will be available for use during that time.

The maintenance activities are still needed to expand system capacity and this will be rescheduled for a later date. A new Support Bulletin will be posted once a new day and time for the maintenance have been confirmed. Blackboard apologizes for any inconvenience this change has caused.

The Scholar central service at  <a href="http://www.scholar.com">http://www.scholar.com</a> has been retired. This service is no longer available. If you have any questions, please contact
your Client Support representative.
Scholar End-Of-Life
The Scholar central service at http://www.scholar.com will be shut down on January 13,
2012.

The Scholar Building Block will no longer be bundled with the Blackboard Learn platform as
of Blackboard Learn, Release 9.1 Service Pack 8, which is currently scheduled for release
later this year.

You should communicate to faculty that have added Scholar Streams as content items to
their courses that those Streams will no longer function after Friday, January 13th, 2012
when Scholar reaches its end-of-life. Those content items should be removed from their
courses.

If you will not be immediately upgrading to Release 9.1 Service Pack 8 after its release,
you should disable and/or remove the Scholar Building Block or PowerLink before Friday,
January 13th, 2012.
