The UMassOnline Tech Team uses distribution lists (email address) to communicate with our customers. These distributions lists are used to alert our customers of an outage, servicing, or upgrade as well as informing users of a new technology event or Special Interest Group (SIG).

Background

The UMOL.UMass.Staff and UMOL.UMass.Hosted distribution lists, which were created more than five years ago, are out-of-date. In an effort to keep up with good housekeeping, we are creating new distribution lists specific to each of the systems and services the UMassOnline Tech Team supports.

Development

All distribution lists are created by the UITS Help Desk. A user must be part of the global address list (GAL) in order to be added. If a user is not in the GAL, a help desk ticket must be filed to request a "GAL Addition". The user's name and email address are required and any additional contact information such as title, campus or phone number is useful.
